THE EVIDENCE, AND ITS EDGES

A researched sample
The register covers selected UK tech employers, including London-listed companies and researched targets. It is not a census, a representative labour-market survey, or a complete jobs feed.
Index membership comes from FTSE Russell constituent files dated 30 June 2026. AIM listings and target companies come from research. Company entries link to their available careers pages and job-board sources.

Counts describe the last recorded read. Openings may have changed since then. A failed or blocked board is unknown, not zero; unread boards are excluded from opening totals and current role charts.
A working careers link does not mean its job board could be read. Coverage labels distinguish companies without a tracked board, boards that could not be read, and readable boards.
Openings and recorded roles differ
Board-level UK engineering counts can include more openings than the individual role records retained here. Work-pattern, engagement and seniority charts use recorded roles. Their denominator states how many records were counted.
When role filters are active, the headline changes to matching recorded roles. Company charts count employers; an employer with several market memberships can appear in more than one market.
Classifications, with a stated basis
Work patterns, engagement and mandates are assessed when postings are read. Remote means at most 25% in the office; unspecified hybrid working does not pass. B2B requires evidence of an arrangement through your own company, such as outside-IR35 contracting.
Seniority and mandate use the stored assessment of the role. Missing or unspecified evidence stays visible as uncertainty. Confirm details in the original posting before acting on them.
Confidence is not a score
Rock, sand and water describe confidence in company research. They do not rate employers or guarantee that a job remains available. The register shows the evidence attached to each entry.
How exploration works
Search and filters select the same underlying register in the directory and charts. On a sector or market chart, other categories remain visible for comparison while the rest of your filters still apply.
Filtered links keep selections after the # in the URL. Saved views are stored only in your browser; clearing site data removes them. Workspace is excluded from indexing, but is not an authenticated private area.
